Come crawl, stand, bounce, waddle, and do your toddler dance. This fun winter class will keep your toddler going (out of that snow suit) using instruments, balls, parachute, bubbles and more. Toddlers will have a chance to play music, dance and move to songs, and read some fun stories.
This music class will introduce children to songs from around the world. We will begin with a hello song,learning to say “hello” in various languages, and then sing songs from around the world. Instruments and propswill be added to our experience to enhance the learning and fun.
Miss Heather will sing, read and dance stories with children and families. Come enjoy 30 minutes of stories.Some stories will be danced and moved to and others will allow cuddling moments.
A multi-age expressive art class in which children will mix and match music, movement, and visual art: dance topoetry, use instruments to create a story, paint to various styles of music and more.
Come scoot, wiggle, giggle, bounce and dance as young minds are engaged with fun rhythmic songs. This funwinter class will provide young children with times to move and play using instruments, balls, parachute, scarvesand more. There will be time to bond with your child with finger plays, lap bounces and stories as well as timesfor your child to explore through song and dance.
Faculty: Heather Oberheim teaches early childhood Music & Movement at the Music School throughout the year. She also travels to other sites to teach through the School’s Music in the Community Initiative (MICI), including programs with pre-school special needs children and Laconia teens enrolled in an early childhood education program. Oberheim earned her undergraduate degree at Colby-Sawyer College, majoring in psychology with a concentration in dance. She also holds a master’s degree in dance movement therapy from Antioch New England Graduate School.
