Julieann Hartley:
A Music Therapist on the Trail
with Music & Poetry

Music Therapist Julieann Hartley has returned to the Music School after her 2,160-mile adventure on the Appalachian Trail! Julieann was featured in the Concord Monitor last April, when she donned hiking boots and a backpack and headed off on the long trek from Georgia to Maine. On the trail, she kept her students and clients in mind.

Welcome to our new trustees
Kass Ardinger & Matt Leahy!

Kass Ardinger learned to play the piano on an upright Steinway, inherited from her great-grandmother -- the same piano that her mother had played and that, later on, Kass's kids would play.

"Music was very meaningful for me,"says Kass. "And it was a great foundation for higher education. As we know now, it certainly does all the right things for developing brains."

When Matt Leahy thinks of the Music School, he thinks of the many positive teacher-student relationships he's observed there over the years -- at first, between his kids and their percussion teacher, John Faggiano.

"Then we'd go to the student recitals, and I could see how other teachers interacted with their students,"says Matt. "You could tell teachers just loved doing what they were doing, and therefore the kids really enjoyed being part of it."
