National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu visited New Hampshire in May, touring several arts organizations and concluding her day with a tour and concert at the Concord Community Music School.

Chu caught a glimpse the day-to-day life of the Music School, dropping in on lessons and ensembles in a variety of instruments and genres. She sight-sang the alto part of "Bring Me Little Water Sylvie" with an adult student vocal quartet, worked with a young piano student on her musical phrasing, heard a guitar solo in the jazz ensemble, and congratulated a voice student on his national success in a musical theater singing competition.

"This has been the perfect ending to the perfect day in New Hampshire," Chu said at the conclusion of the evening concert, which featured Peggo and Paul Hodes, Kent Allyn, and the Larksong Trio. "Thank you for being such a model for us to learn from."
