For Grades 9 – 12

Welcome to our Teen Chorus Program, designed for students in grades 9-12 who have a passion for singing and a desire to develop their vocal skills in a collaborative and supportive environment. Our program offers a comprehensive choral experience that includes a variety of musical styles, performance opportunities, and vocal training.

Teen Chorus meets on Monday evenings from 7:10 – 8:25 PM starting on September 23, 2024.

Program Highlights:

Vocal Training: Students will receive professional vocal instruction, focusing on technique, breath control, pitch, and harmony. Our experienced vocal coaches will help each singer develop their unique voice and improve their overall musicianship.

Diverse Repertoire: The chorus will explore a wide range of musical genres, including classical, contemporary, pop, jazz, American Songbook, and world music. This diverse repertoire ensures that students gain exposure to different styles and cultures, enriching their musical experience.

Performance Opportunities: Students will participate in several performances throughout the year, including school concerts, community events, and when appropriate have opportunities for regional competitions. These performances provide valuable stage experience and a chance to showcase their hard work and talent.

Collaborative Environment: Our program emphasizes teamwork and collaboration. Students will learn to blend their voices, work together in harmony, and support one another in their musical journey. The chorus is a place where lifelong friendships are formed.

Musical Literacy: In addition to vocal performance, students will develop their musical literacy skills, including sight-reading, music theory, and ear training. These skills are essential for any aspiring musician and will benefit students in all their musical endeavors.

Guest Clinicians and Workshops: Throughout the year, we invite guest clinicians and conductors to work with our chorus. These workshops provide students with fresh perspectives and new techniques, enhancing their learning experience.

Leadership Opportunities: Advanced students will have the chance to take on leadership roles within the chorus, such as section leaders or assistant conductors. These roles help develop leadership skills and offer a deeper understanding of choral directing.

Community Involvement: Our chorus actively engages with the community through outreach programs and performances at local events. This involvement helps students develop a sense of social responsibility and the joy of sharing music with others.

Join our Teen Chorus Program and be part of a dynamic and inspiring musical community. Whether you are an experienced singer or new to choral singing, our program will help you grow as a musician and performer. We look forward to making beautiful music together!
