The Chamber Music Program is designed for middle and high school students (ages 11-17) as well as adult players. Previous experience of playing in the group is preferred but not mandatory to participate in the program. String, wind players and pianists are welcome!
Groups will be formed based on age and level of individual players, with 2-6 players in each group. While there is no audition required to participate, It is recommended that students have a private teacher they are currently working with.
Groups will meet weekly for one hour, beginning in late September and will run for 14 weeks. The time and day of the class will be determined based on group members’ availability. All chamber ensembles will perform at a culminating recital at the end of each semester.
Ensemble members will be working on one or two large pieces per semester, exploring classical music repertoire as well as popular music composition. They will learn how to feel the beat together, tune to each other, lead and follow, and work as a team to bring the piece to life. These groups are ideal for students who are comfortable on their instruments and ready to explore more repertoire and music making with others. Some of the best friendships are usually made while playing chamber music!
Current Music School students as well as newcomers are invited to inquire about ensemble opportunities through our online inquiry system, or by calling us at 603-228-1196.
This program is made possible, in part, through the support of Associated Chamber Music Players (ACMP), an international service organization supporting chamber music for pleasure. Join ACMP – Membership is FREE!
