January 25, 2013 - Jazz in January
The Musicians of Wall Street Jazz Ensemble's annual cabaret concert. Two performances: 7 and 9 p.m. (call 228-1196 for ticket availability for the 7 p.m. concert)

March 1-3, 2013 - March Mandolin Festival
The 11th annual March Mandolin Festival features Matt Flinner, Robin Bullock, Will Patton and David Surette, with special guest Susie Burke. This two-day event offers group lessons and workshops on a variety of topics, jam sessions, and an evening concert. As in past years, the festival will present a Friday night concert featuring the same performers over on the seacoast; this year’s venue is still to be determined (this is a separate ticket from the Concord events). A special Sunday night String Jazz Extravaganza will be held at the Barley Pub in Dover, NH.

March 22-23, 2013 - Anniversary Weekend
Annual celebration includes a community open house, non-stop student performances to benefit the Financial Aid Fund, a special Friday evening faculty concert and an instrument petting zoo. The Friday evening concert is sponsored by Northeast Delta Dental; Weekend festivities are sponsored by Merrimack County Savings Bank.

April 19 - 20, 2013 -  Vibrant Voice
Clear and renew your body and spirit through the power of song. Friday, 4/19 from 7 - 9:30 p.m. and Saturday, 4/20 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

April 14, 2013 - Songweavers Concert:"The Rhythm of Life," under the direction of Peggo Horstmann Hodes. This spirited all-woman community chorus and drumming ensemble celebrates spring in its annual concert at South Congregational Church.

Workshop Weeks
What is a workshop week? Sprinkled throughout the school year, each department (string, voice, piano, winds/brass, jazz/folk/percussion) plans a week-long series of workshops designed to expand the musical horizons of all participants. Previous offerings have included reed making, hypnosis, audition tips, reading sessions for winds and brass, exploring the inside of a piano, how to work with a pianist, percussion, improvisation and a broad range of other topics.

One of the highlights each year is the three-day "Beatles Orchestra" offered during Jazz Workshop Week, during which musicians of all ages join together to learn and perform a Beatles tune. Parts are specially arranged to accommodate students at all levels of development, so one usually finds the "orchestra" comprised of a mix of beginning classical string players, woodwind players, faculty members and accomplished mandolin players learning and creating alongside students from the Jazz Department.

Workshop sessions are informative, innovative and inspiring. We invite you to join us this year!
